“Ch-ch-changes…”

After opening my private practice nearly a year ago, in March 2014, I’m quickly approaching my first year anniversary in private practice. After having two offices, one in Escondido and the other not far from the Mission Valley area of San Diego, I closed my San Diego office in June 2014, opting to focus fully on my practice in Escondido.

Interestingly enough, the more things change, the more they stay the same. After closing my San Diego office, I opened up a downtown San Diego office in November 2014.

Also, after working with the underserved, fragile population of parents and children involved with Child Welfare for nearly 20 years, I’ve decided to branch out and focus on a different population.

I’ve had quite a journey in my life, literally, from the Midwest, to the West Coast, and figuratively, from ill health associated with morbid obesity and related health issues, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, joint and bone issues, to the good health that comes from weight loss, i.e., gastric bypass, remission of diabetes, high blood pressure, vastly improved joints, and increased energy. As such, I find myself exploring the possibility of helping others with comorbid issues.

Additionally, through my experience working with survivors of trauma, I find longer term psychotherapy to be incredibly rewarding and am excited about the opportunities to help others make positive changes in their lives.

I am very excited about future opportunities to aid and inspire other people who find themselves on a similar journey, and seek guidance.

Life Happens

So this happened! I had a long-overdue total knee replacement (TKR) of my right knee. It’s been a true adventure, and I want to share it with you. I decided to dedicate an entire blog to the subject, as it fits in so nicely with my “mind, body, spirit” view of life,...
